Since our last update, the news is still good. We have no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our community. The one resident who tested positive continues to recover and remains in quarantine. Every day we seek to do our part to aggressively prevent any new cases. As guided by the CDC and OHA, we’ve requested all Main Building residents to join staff by wearing a mask upon leaving their apartments. We are reaching out to the greater Newberg community for donations in order to supply masks for Independent Living residents who don’t already have them. Friendsview will provide proper medical masks for Health Services residents. We continue to encourage residents to maintain physical distancing by following these simple steps:
- Refrain from touching another person, their pet or possessions.
- Refrain from sharing food and beverages.
- Wear a mask when outside your apartment.
- Maintain social distancing of 6 feet from others at all times, including with those sitting inside an open window.
- Refrain from passing items through windows or over patio railings.
As staff and residents connect over the phone, email, video and zoom, the overall mood has been one of positivity, optimism and hope for the future. It’s been amazing to see our community pull together and support one another during this crisis. There is no better way to show support and tell someone you care than to say it in your own words, via a Friendsview Care Card. Friends and family can fill out the online form and then a staff member will print and deliver it to their door.
We so appreciate all the kind words and encouragement from the greater community in Newberg and beyond. It displays how we really are in this together!
