Mike Deckon

Director of Sales and Marketing

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit fundraising, strategic communications, and mission-focused storytelling, Mike has dedicated his career to organizations that invest deeply in people’s lives.

Before joining Friendsview in December 2025, he served as Director of Advancement Programs at George Fox University and as Director of Marketing at Portland Rescue Mission. During his nine years at Portland Rescue Mission, Mike led outreach and fundraising initiatives that addressed real community needs.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Education Ministries. He and his wife, Nikki, live in Newberg with their Rhodesian Ridgeback, Sammy, and are the proud parents of two sons who attend Oregon State University. In his free time, Mike enjoys collecting records, watching movies, and “trying” to cook.
