Karen Tozer
Council Chair
Karen grew up in Southern California and left to attend Lewis & Clark College, graduating in 1972. She spent the next 16 years employed in various capacities in the international trade and transportation industry. Her work took her back to Southern California in 1988. In 1991 she went to work for the City of Los Angeles, where she first served as a marketing manager for the Port of Los Angeles. In 2001, she transferred to the Department of Airports at LAX, where she held managerial positions in the property division, executive offices, concessions and purchasing. She retired in 2016 as the Director of Procurement.
Karen became a Friendsview off-campus resident in 2019 and moved into Springbrook North as part of the expansion in 2022. In addition to her service on Residents Council, she is also secretary of the Newberg City Club and a member of the Newberg Historical Preservation Commission. She enjoys travel, art, theater and the Oregon Symphony.
