It lets our team know that you’re interested in moving here someday—and it keeps you in the loop when opportunities come up. When you join, you’re added to a list of other individuals and couples who are also thinking ahead. Some are ready to move soon; others are still exploring their timeline.
However, the Intent List is not a traditional waitlist.
Many people assume that being on the Intent List is like standing in line at the grocery store: first come, first served. But that’s not how it works at Friendsview.
Here, your number on the list doesn’t automatically determine when or if you’ll be offered a home. Why? Because every available home is unique, and so are your preferences and circumstances.
What Determines Who Gets an Offer?
When a home opens up, we consider several factors:
- Which home is available (its size, layout, and location)
- Who is ready to move right now
- How quickly people respond to offers
- Whether the home matches someone’s preferences
Even if you’re high on the list, if you’re not quite ready—or if the home offered isn’t your ideal—you might pass. Meanwhile, someone else (even someone lower on the list or not yet on it) might be ready to say yes. In fact, in 2024, nearly 63% of new residents had never even been on the Intent List. They simply said “yes” when the right opportunity came up.
The Truth About “Being Ready”
Joining the Intent List is a wise way to prepare for your future. But it’s just one part of the picture.
Being ready to move—emotionally, financially, and logistically—is what opens doors here at Friendsview. That means being open to a variety of home types, being able to move when a home becomes available, and seeing the value of joining our community sooner rather than later.
